Written by Frederick Weatherly and to the original tune of ''The Derry Air'' This song
would be more popular with the Irish abroad than the Irish at home. In all the ballad sessions I've ever attended I have never
heard this song sang in an Irish pub in Ireland. The abc music notes are below. Danny Boy lyrics and chords There are other kinds of music on the site that's more suited to beginners of tin whistle where I include
the words with the notes on top such as When The Saints Go Marching In . Danny boy would not be a great song if you are only starting to play as it goes very high into the second
octave. There are two different versions here.
Below is a different version.

Remember, this song is typically played with a slow tempo. The letters in bold are low notes.
The video lesson above starts off with an F note and is different than the sheet music.
Above is another version. I have placed the words of most of the tune to give a head start. When I was
playing this I was using a D whistle and found that when I reached the very high part [ The B Note ] it was way too noisy.
Not good when you have neighbours to contend with.
